Is Fund My Squad really free?
Yes. There are no platform fees, no monthly subscriptions, and no setup costs. You create an account, launch your fundraiser or event, and start collecting money immediately. Standard Stripe payment processing fees (2.9% + $0.30 per transaction) apply, and donors have the option to cover those fees at checkout.
How does Fund My Squad make money?
When supporters donate or buy tickets, they see an optional prompt to leave a tip to Fund My Squad. Tips are completely voluntary — supporters choose how much (or nothing at all). This model lets us keep platform fees at 0% so organizers always keep 100%.
Can donors cover the processing fee?
Yes. At checkout, donors and ticket buyers see a checkbox to cover the Stripe processing fee. When they opt in, the fee is added to their total so you receive the full amount. Most supporters are happy to cover it.
Do I need a nonprofit status?
No. Fund My Squad works for any group — youth sports teams, school programs, booster clubs, fraternities/sororities, dance studios, community organizations, and individuals. Unlike Zeffy (which requires 501(c)(3) status), FMS serves both nonprofit and for-profit organizations.
How do I get my money?
Funds are deposited directly to your connected bank account via Stripe. You can request payouts anytime from your organizer dashboard. There are no holding periods or minimum thresholds.
What payment methods do you support?
All major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Apple Tap to Pay for in-person sales. Payments are processed securely through Stripe.
